Our Brookside Parents have been calling the school to ask about school supplies and donations. The PTA has put together a SUGGESTED school supply list of general school supplies used in classrooms for each grade. The lists are easy for parents to view and print. Students love to give gifts to their classrooms and the school appreciates your donations. Keep these lists handy to make your back-to-school shopping as easy as A, B, C!

Brookside Awarded 2011-2012 Title I Achievement Award

Brookside Elementary School has been selected to receive the 2011-2012 Title I Achievement Award.  This achievement was accomplished through the hard work of teachers, staff, students, and their families.  Only 117 schools statewide will achieve this honor.  The award was given to our school because "all" students have shown that they are making significant progress towards proficiency on California's Academic Content Standards.  Additionally, some students doubled their achievement targets set for them for two consecutive years.  This is a remarkable achievement!

Congratulations Bullfrogs!

Read Across America was a Huge Success!!!

On March 2nd, The Cat in the Hat, Thing 1, and Thing 2 greeted and escorted 87 volunteers from the community and school district to read to anxiously awaiting students in all Brookside classrooms.  Policemen, firemen, administrators, classified staff, School Board members, librarians, parents, and many other community members were all a part of the fun!  In the words of Dr. Seuss, "How Lucky We Are" to have such a wonderful city filled with people who care enough to share the joy of reading with our Brookside students.
