Our Brookside Parents have been calling the school to ask about school supplies and donations. The PTA has put together a SUGGESTED school supply list of general school supplies used in classrooms for each grade. The lists are easy for parents to view and print. District Honor Band Receives High Praise!Please click on the link below to see photos, listen to the band, and hear the judges comments! Brookside Band Year-end Performance May 22nd at 6:30 p.m. Honor Band Performance - May 24th at 6:30 p.m. Performances will be at Beaumont High School in the Theater Brookside Awarded 2011-2012 Title I Achievement AwardBrookside Elementary School has been selected to receive the 2011-2012 Title I Achievement Award. This achievement was accomplished through the hard work of teachers, staff, students, and their families. Only 117 schools statewide will achieve this honor. The award was given to our school because "all" students have shown that they are making significant progress towards proficiency on California's Academic Content Standards. Additionally, some students doubled their achievement targets set for them for two consecutive years. This is a remarkable achievement! Congratulations Bullfrogs!

The General Membership will vote at Open House on May 10, 2012. Additional nominations may be taken from the floor. Read Across America was a Huge Success!!! On March 2nd, The Cat in the Hat, Thing 1, and Thing 2 greeted and escorted 87 volunteers from the community and school district to read to anxiously awaiting students in all Brookside classrooms. Policemen, firemen, administrators, classified staff, School Board members, librarians, parents, and many other community members were all a part of the fun! In the words of Dr. Seuss, "How Lucky We Are" to have such a wonderful city filled with people who care enough to share the joy of reading with our Brookside students.
Brookside Talent Show "A Flashback to the Fifties" was a great success! Special thanks to the parents, teachers, and participants for a really wonderful show!

Tuesday Take or Trade Wins Golden Bell Award
Brookside Elementary School received the California School Boards Association Golden Bell Award for their "Tuesday Take or Trade" program. The Golden Bell Award promotes excellence by recognizing outstanding programs in school districts and county offices throughout California. The "Tuesday Take or Trade" provides gently used children's clothing, school supplies, books, and accessories. Customers can donate clothing that is no longer used and/or take what is needed. The "Take and Trade" is arranged in a boutique style, and has boy's and girl's clothing ranging from size 3T to young adults. The program is managed by student volunteers and adult volunteers, Trish and Kim Murrill. GO BULLFROGS!! 2011 API Score 873! Brookside students hop 16 points! Way to go Bullfrogs! This is one amazing accomplishment! Thank you teachers, staff, and community.
